Organisation

The Minerva Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity in Canada. Its operations are guided by a volunteer board of directors a small staff and more than 250 volunteers at any given time.

The head office and administrative centre for the Minerva Foundation for BC Women is located in Vancouver with two branches in Victoria and Prince George. Each branch has a local operating committee chaired by a member of the Minerva Foundation Board of Directors.

The Minerva office is located in space provided through the generosity of TD Bank in downtown Vancouver. Our Victoria and Prince George branches rely on support from our Vancouver-based staff and the dedication of our chairs, committees and amazing volunteers in each location.

Our Brand Story

It is said that both Neptune and Minerva competed for the rights to the City of Athens. It was determined that whoever devised the gift most useful to mortals would be granted the city as their own. Neptune created the horse and Minerva created the olive Minerva’s gift won the city. Minerva’s useful gift of the olive offered an ongoing source of food, work and a sustainable, healthy life for the community.

We have incorporated the olive leaf into our new brand identity as it is a symbol of our work – work that permanently changes lives and creates community.
