Thank you to everyone who showed their support today by attending our 6th annual Women In™ luncheon, Women In™ Transportation. Thanks to your generosity we raised $80,000! This money will help more women like our amazing protégée speakers, Binaifer and Ashley. Our congratulations again to all of our nominees and to Anna Dean, Marcella Szel and Jennifer Hawes for their deserved recognition. Journeys with Heart

Honour a special woman in your life on Minerva’s Tribute Tree!

To commemorate 10 years of changing women’s lives, Minerva Foundation has launched a Tribute Campaign to honour the extraordinary women in our lives. A $500 donation to Minerva will place her name on a Leaf of the Tribute Tree, a $1000 donation places her name on a Tree Branch and a donation of $5000 or more places her name on the Tree Trunk. Please also provide a brief story of why you are paying tribute to this special woman in your life. Your donation will support women who are currently in a Minerva program. Donations can be make online or in person at the Minerva offices.

Donations can be made in full in one transaction, or you can make a monthly pledge to Minerva to receive the level of your choice on the tree (i.e. $42.00 a month for one year to receive a leaf, $84.00 a month to get a branch, etc). Apply Now for January 2012 Helping Women Work™ Career Exploration Program

MHWW is a unique career-mentoring program for women who want to re-enter the workforce.  Our program runs for 12 weeks plus follow-up, and is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.  The next session begins January 17, 2012.  Apply now, applications are due by Monday November 28, 2011.

The MHWW Program will help you:

Congratulations to Minerva Board of Directors member Bob Elton for being recognized in the category of Male Champion of Women’s Economic Empowerment at the The International Alliance for Women’s (TIAW) World of Difference Awards!

Bob Elton, who serves on several boards, including the Minerva Foundation for BC Women, has this to say about being one of the first male recipients of the award: “It is great to see so many BC recipients recognized for this award, and I’m proud to be in this company.  All parts of our society, including business, clearly benefit from having a mix of men and women working together.”

Today marks National Philanthropy Day®, which is the special day set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the great contributions that philanthropy—and those people active in the philanthropic community—have made to our lives, our communities and our world. We at the Minerva Foundation would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who donates their time, talent and treasure to help Minerva every year. Leading by Tweeting Campaign Launched!

Leading by Tweeting Campaign


In a program focused on sustainability, a group of MBA students from the Beedie School of Business (SFU) is raising awareness and funds for the Minerva Foundation, one tweet at a time. With invaluable social media help from some of Minerva’s most prominent and long-time supporters, the goal of this campaign is to provide inspiration, insight, and hope in 140 characters or less. We call this Leading by Tweeting.

The online champions listed below will be supporting this campaign by sending out tweets to raise awareness about how the Minerva Foundation is changing lives and empowering women throughout our province. The Leading by Tweeting Campaign has the ultimate goal of building Minerva’s online community to increase awareness about the Foundation.
