Ways to Support Us

Make A Donation: The Minerva Foundation invites those who share a commitment to the advancement of women to help create this endowment. The Foundation’s long term goal is to raise $20 million over the next decade to ensure a steady stream of independent funding for initiatives aimed at enhancing opportunities for British Columbia’s women and girls. The minimum donation for a named endowment with a specific mandate is $25,000; all other donations will go into the general endowment fund.

Sponsor an Educational Bursary Award: The Minerva Foundation in conjunction with each of the five universities in British Columbia including the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, University of Northern BC, University of Victoria Royal Roads will award an annual $10,000 bursary to a qualified female student at each of the universities. This program includes other post secondary institutions for Fall of 2010.

Please contact our Resource Development Manager for more information or to sponsor one of these bursaries.

Sponsor an Event: Every year the Minerva Foundation holds a series of events to raise awareness and build support. These events, held by each of our branch offices, provide an opportunity to meet new friends and spread the word about our goals while raising funds for the Foundation.

There are many opportunities for companies to sponsor these events either through monetary support or value-in-kind.

Sponsor a Special Project: The Minerva Foundation will match donors with special projects aimed at helping BC women and girls achieve their full potential. Using our knowledge and contacts, we will link community organizations and projects that require funding with the individual, corporate or organizational sponsors. An example of a project that the Foundation has funded through partnerships is a Canadian Red Cross abuse prevention program for Aboriginal women which was funded by Weyerhaeuser.

Give an in-kind Gift: As a non-profit organization, the Minerva Foundation welcomes in-kind contributions of goods and professional services. This may include items donated for fund-raising auctions, gifts of real estate or property, securities, insurance policies and other planned gifts.

All donors receive tax receipts for the value of their gifts based on a donor-funded appraisal.
